The Medicine Hat Cubs had to make some room on the bus, picking up a pair of wins while away from home.
The Cubs swept their two-game stint on the road, beating the Cochrane Generals 5-1 on Friday before blanking the Coaldale Copperheads 5-0 on Saturday.
Mason Osinski had two goals and an assist in Friday’s win. Captain Kyle Woolridge had a goal and two assists, and both Blake Girard and Jesse Klimosko had solo markers. Kayne Wright made 28 stops in the win.
In Saturday’s win, Marlo DeRosa stopped all 14 shots he faced in the shutout win. Nolan Sutherland and Girard had a goal and two assists, while Makhi Carriere, Jacob Hazzard and Slade McFadzen each scored.
The Cubs (9-6-1) sit tied for second in the South division with the Copperheads. The local Junior B club returns to the Kinplex on Nov. 15 for their lone game of the week, hosting the High River Flyers for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
