The Medicine Hat Cubs picked up a pair of wins on the road this weekend.


The Cubs beat the Red Deer Vipers 5-3 on Saturday, topping the Rocky Rams 9-4 on Sunday.

In Saturday’s win, all five Medicine Hat goals were scored by a different Cub.

Kyle Woolridge, Jesse Klimosko, Mason Osinski, Nolen Sutherland and Jacob Hazzard each found the back of the net. Tyler Wakelam made 25 saves for the win as Medicine Hat outshot Red Deer 36-28.

Against Rocky on Sunday, Kyle Woolridge had three goals with an assist, Osinski also had a hat trick. Callan Prosofsky had a goal with two assists, Sutherland and Josh Aitken each had a goal and an assist and both Rhett Franklin and Blake Dosenberger had a pair of helpers. Adam Ranger stopped 20 shots for the win, Cubs outshot Rocky 49-24.

The Cubs (13-5) sit second in the Southern division, three points back of the first place Okotoks Bisons (14-3-1).

The Medicine Hat Cubs are on the road Friday, taking on the High River Flyers. On Sunday, they return to the Kinplex, facing the Ponoka Stampeders in a 3 p.m. contest.
