The Medicine Hat Cubs HJHL title defence begins in September.
The 36-game regular season schedule for the defending HJHL champions was released Thursday, with a pair of home games to kick off the season.
They’ll host the High River Flyers on Friday, Sept. 25 and the Didsbury Mountain View Colts on Saturday, Sept. 26. The Cubs will host the Rocky Mountain Rams on Oct. 2 before heading on the road for five straight games.
On. Nov. 29 the Cubs will host the Rimbey Royals who joined the HJHL this offseason, taking over for the Ponoka Stampeders who withdrew from the league after the 2025-26 season.
The Cubs will play in Red Deer on Dec. 5, their first meeting with the Vipers since sweeping the North Division opponent in the HJHL final to capture the franchise’s first title. They’ll host the Vipers at the Kinplex on Jan. 17.
Season preparations begin with training camp Sept. 4-6 at the Big Marble Go Centre.
They’ll play four preseason games, starting Sept. 12 in Coaldale before hosting the Copperheads on Sept. 13 for a 6:15 p.m. contest at the Moose Rec Centre. The Cubs will play in Strathmore on Sept. 19 before hosting the Wheatland Kings on Sept. 20, 3 p.m. at the Kinplex.
