The Medicine Hat Cubs ended their preseason slate on a high note.
The Cubs swept the last weekend of the preseason with a pair of wins over the Strathmore Wheatland Kings. They won 6-5 Saturday on the road before beating the Wheatland Kings 6-2 on Sunday at the Kinplex.
Randen Collier and Jacob Hazzard each had a goal and an assist on Saturday and all four of Lucas Dulle, Nolen Sutherland, Treyden Kleinknecht and Reeve Zacharias found the back of the net. Ethan Hall had a pair of assist, Hudson Corbett made 19 saves in net.
On Sunday, Colby Gulliver, Jaxon Bohrn and Ryker Watson all had a goal and an assist. Kleinknecht, Brodie Heimbecker and Josiah Jackson all scored and Cole Fisher had two helpers. Kayden Van Ham made 15 saves.
The Cubs open the regular season with a pair of home games this weekend. They host the High River Flyers on Friday before facing the Mountainview Colts on Saturday, both games are at 7:30 p.m. at the Kinplex.
